ISBN Barcode Generation:
TPS now offers the capability of creating ISBN
(International Standard Book Numbering) barcodes for your
publications. Simply supply us with your ISBN number and we'll
generate the artwork for the barcode. If you'd like more information
about obtaining an ISBN number or apply for a new number, go to the
Bowker Agencies web site at www.isbn.org

We now support InDesign:
After taking a "watch and wait" approach to
Adobe's latest page layout application, we now feel that InDesign is
finally ready for "prime-time". As of August 2004 we now
support InDesign CS on the Mac platform.

Panther Implemented:
The field tests of Mac OS 10.3 Panther have been completed.
We will be in the process of upgrading all of our pre-press systems
through-out the year.

Applications we no longer support:
The following applications have been dropped for our
Supported Media list. We have removed them due to lack of customer
use, or manufacturer support. If you have a project that has been
created in any of these applications, please contact us for
alternative options:

Note on Platform Description:
To clarify the term "Platform" in the Supported
Media list above. Platform indicates the native version of a particular
application we use. For example, the version of Quark Xpress that we
support is run on Macintosh computers. While Quark documents are
"cross-platform" which means that a document created on
the PC version of Quark can be opened and edited within the Mac
version and vice-versa, there can be an issue with support files,
especially fonts. PC and Mac fonts are not cross-platform,
regardless of type (i.e. Postscript, TrueType).
If you supply us with documents that were created in
the PC version of the following applications, additional pre-press
charges may incurred for font conversions and image/object
re-linking. The alternative to this is to supply us with Postscript
or PDF files:

Graphic creation applications such as those listed
below can use their "convert text to paths" utilities
which will convert selected text into graphic objects. By doing
this, you eliminate any font concerns:

Jaguar Implemented:
The field tests of Mac OS 10.2 Jaguar have been completed
and it has passed with flying colors! We will be in the process of
upgrading all of our pre-press systems through-out the year. As
always, Trade Printing Services is proud to be on the
"cutting-edge" of technology. We also applaud Apple for
creating such a robust and flexible operating system.
